The concept of Gran Turismo has caused the emergence of the real car, which started today in competition at the festival in wörthersee. New double radical open top car called the GTI Roadster was originally conceived as a three-dimensional computer model. A concept created by three young VW designers, was the winner of the competition held in the headquarters of the automaker in order to identify the best model for inclusion in Gran Turismo in the framework of the 15th anniversary. Created in the main design Studio in Wolfsburg, the GTI Roadster is claimed to combines various topics under consideration for future production models of Volkswagen, including track version of the seventh generation Golf.

Appeared in wörthersee, Volkswagen GTI Roadster is equipped with a twin-turbocharged diesel 3.0-liter VR6 engine, developed by boss units gasoline engines Fritz Eichler (Fritz Eichler) in the R&D centre in Braunschweig, Germany.

Volkswagen claims that the concept can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 306 km/h. 20-inch wheels, "shod" in tires size 235/35 front and 275/30 rear, behind which is hidden the carbon-ceramic brake discs with a diameter of 380 and 356 mm at the front and rear respectively. VW hopes that the concept GTI Roadster will be a preview of a new model coupe, calling it a "mobile canvas for design and engineering ideas, inspired by enthusiasts in the virtual world".
