Trucks of the future: the most ambitious projects

Mercedes Future Track

Future Track 2025
Mercedes has always cared about the comfort and the new truck – a clear confirmation. The concept with the telling title Future Track 2025 will allow the driver to literally sleep on the road. Once on the highway the truck will accelerate to 80 km/h, the system will work Highway Pilot. The situation on the highway will determine the cameras and radar truck. In case of danger the system will give the driver an alarm. The usual grille machine has – in its place is an ingenious system of LEDs. Their color varies from truck rides on autopilot or controlled by a person. Another plus is a convenient and thoughtful interior: here and parquet floors, and a TV on the wall, and many other things.

Something similar is being developed in the bowels of Volvo Trucks. One important aspect of the Swedish child – friendly. Aerodynamic design, together with other innovative solutions will reduce CO2 emissions. The autopilot system will allow you to move safely not just one truck, but a whole column. Its speed can reach 90 km/h. The image from the rear view camera will be displayed on the inside of the windshield. The dashboard will be a large touch screen, which displays all the necessary information. On the nose Concept Truck will install a special cover plate that protects it during the collision.

MAN Concept S

VOLVO VISION 2020
Of all the concepts of the trucks of the future, this one is perhaps the most economical. Before us is a joint venture between the companies Krone and MAN. This is the tractor-trailer, which is combined with the AeroLiner trailer. Thus, the creators want to achieve maximum aerodynamic effect, because the trailer and the truck are a single silhouette. Aerodynamic drag will be at the level of the car. This will save 25% of fuel (in comparison with other models of trucks) and significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The volume of transported goods is not affected. Concept S will also receive camera, monitoring tire pressure, protection from rocking and a lot of other "chips".
Very unusual bonnet truck was introduced by the Swedes from Scania. To begin with, bonneted trucks is very not typical for Europe. But the engineers at Scania would like to combine retro and new technologies. Innovation is immediately apparent: the usual technical elements are hidden under the special panel, and the role of rear-view mirrors perform camcorder. All this is intended to reduce air resistance and make more dynamic STAX. Before us is only a concept and such a tractor may only appear in about ten years.

Chameleon

MAN Concept S
Designed by Chinese designer Chaichana Deng, this car claims to be the most original of the truck. A resident of China recognizes that the creation of "Chameleon" pushed his nature. The fact that the truck "eats" cargo – loading is performed through the front of the car.
When loading the cabin rises, and the inside of the truck extends a special ladder. Thus, loading and unloading can be carried out much faster. And Chameleon is able to stretch (the body is made of high-strength fabric), turning from compact truck in this truck. Among the shortcomings of the concept can be noted quite close the driver's cab. In recent years, many companies presented their vision of the future truck. Some of the projects attracted attention due to the innovative design, while others relied on the new capabilities.
